Range 14 ($5,389.17) per month based on the current Classified salary schedule.

  • New employees will begin on Step L ($5,389.17).
  • Salary negotiation is not allowed.
  • Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA.
  • This position is FLSA Non-exempt (may accrue overtime).

The Position:
Applications are currently being accepted for Athletic Equipment Attendant in the school of Health, Exercise Science, Nutrition, and Athletics, located at San Diego City College. The position will be responsible for the womens intercollegiate sports programs along with the duties aligned to position. Hours are generally Monday through Friday 11:00am to 8:00pm. Approximately fifteen to twenty dates per year during womens volleyball, mens and womens basketball game nights, the arrival and departure times may extend later to support the events. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the departments needs.

A summary of general duties includes, receiving and distributing items ordered by department. Procuring items for the department. Keeping inventory of items and apparel. Retrieve missing equipment and/or place holds for non-returned items. Keep up to date on schedule of operations. Setup and breakdown of practices/ classes. Home-game setup: may occur throughout the day based on schedule. Home-game breakdown. Support the needs for teams traveling to away games. Laundering of team apparel and placing apparel back into correct lockers. Monitor eligibility email to pull jerseys for ineligible athletes. Coordination with the Athletic Equipment Attendant for the mens intercollegiate sports programs. And other duties as assigned.


Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Desired Qualifications:
SDCC seeks individuals with the ability to evolve with the ever changing aspects of instruction and athletics. Experience in the playing of sports and/or the operations that support athletics operations are desired.


Foreign Degree:
Applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, INC.(ACEI). A copy of the evaluation must be submitted with your on-line application.

Conditions of Employment:
SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT:
  • Submit "official" transcripts as stated on application (even if a degree is not a requirement for this position);
  • Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (Note: The certificate must be renewed every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment);
  • Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the Districts expense (Clearance must be received prior to first day of employment);
  • Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States as required by the I9 Employment Eligibility Verification form; AND,
  • Attend a new hire processing appointment in People, Culture, and Technology Services located at the District Administrative Offices.

EMPLOYMENT AFTER RETIREMENT
If you accept a contract (permanent) position with SDCCD and are a retired annuitant with CalPERS or CalSTRS, you must reinstate from your retirement system. Please reference the CalPERS or CalSTRS website for further information.
