Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Oversees event and game-day management, championship hosting, athletic facility maintenance and scheduling, and supports camp and clinic operations. Serves as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders to enhance fan engagement, ensure operational excellence, and maintain NCAA compliance standards.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Acts as the event manager for athletics facilities, games, and events
2. Supervises home event game operations, meeting with administrators, coaches, and officials before home games
3. Serves as primary facility representative on behalf of KSU Athletics, collaborates with operation and facility campus partners and serves as gameday administrator for all NCAA contests and external rentals on behalf of KSU Athletics
4. Manages internal and external event service providers (e.g., Parking, Police/Fire, EMS, security)
5. Supports crisis management of officials, table crew, equipment and facilities, spectators and their behavior, weather conditions, etc.
6. Develops and executes event management plans with unit leadership
7. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, University, NCAA, conference, and departmental policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
8. Serves as the primary day-to-day operations point of contact
9. Updates and maintains the Athletic Association's operations manual and policy manual
10. Responsible for event set up and tear down of athletic facilities and equipment as needed
11. Schedules and coordinates student and staffing for events
12. Acts as liaison with University Event Services during athletic events
13. Manages athletic facility scheduling databases for games, practices, and events
14. Schedules and manages all camps and clinics, ensuring compliance with policies and background checks
15. Assists with planning and execution of Athletic Department special events (e.g., Homecoming, Hall of Fame)
16. Serves as the Sports Programs Administrator for assigned sport(s)
17. Develops and supports professional development of assigned staff and student workers

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Business, Sports Management, or related field

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience
Two (2) years of athletic events coordination at a high school, college, and/or professional sports level or related operations management field.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Preferred Experience
Previous experience in project management or event planning

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
Able to supervise staff, coordinate programs and event processes
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Able to manage athletic facilities, including maintenance, and event setup, etc.
Able to serve as a high-level representative during events, ensuring positive experiences for patrons

KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with rules governing collegiate athletics
Understanding of sports program management, including scheduling, budgeting, and compliance

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite and related athletics software programs)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
